Iveragh Learning Landscapes is a weekend of talks, walks and workshops encompassing local natural and built heritage, outdoor education, land stewardship and well-being. Taking place from the 6-8 October on the stunning Iveragh peninsula between the villages of Waterville and Caherdaniel, the unique event will host talks, guided walks, and workshops over the course of the weekend.
8 Pieces of Plastic to Stop Using Right Now
Workshop topics range from sand dune ecology, herbal medicine and identifying and cooking edible seaweeds to Leave No Trace outdoor ethics, Forest Schools, ocean literacy and how to use the outdoors as an educational tool. The workshops will be led by a range of local and international experts including Anders Szezcpanski from Linkoping University in Sweden, Karin Bacon from Marino College Dublin, Ronan Foley Maynooth University, Lucy Hunt of Sea Synergy Marine Education Centre, Aine Bird of the Burrenbeo Trust, Ciara Hinksman from Forest schools and many more.
Guided walks include visits to local rock art sites, a trip to Church Island on Lough Currane and a Dark Skies evening event.
Attendance is open to all, and there is an Early Bird registration fee of just €50 available until 15 September.
