A 19-year-old cyclist died yesterday afternoon after being involved in a truck collision near UCD.

It’s with heavy hearts we have to report the death of another cyclist on our roads. The crash occurred between Donnybrook and UCD at the junction of Stillorgan Road and Greenfield Park off the N11 yesterday. The cyclist was quickly transported to St. Vincent’s hospital where he died from his injuries at 3:15 pm. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Gardaí is appealing for witnesses of the scene to come forward with any information at The Garda Confidential Telephone Line, 01 6669200 or at the Donnybrook Garda Station.

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old woman from Dublin is in critical condition after being hit by a car on Monday morning while crossing the R132 on her way to work at Pavilions Shopping Center in Swords. She was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where she is now suffering from serious head injuries.
