This Saturday, the world premiere of ‘Made In Ireland: The True Story of Irish Surfing’ is screening in The Chasin’ Bull in Bundoran. Tickets are free but you need to reserve them.
Irish filmmaker, Mikey Corker, explores the nature of surfing through an Irish winter and the daring individuals that attempt to conquer these massive cold water waves. In a three-part series, ‘Made in Ireland’ examines the brutal challenges of surfing the biggest waves the Irish winter doles out, along with the glory thrust upon the brave individuals who succeed and thrive in these waves.
Big wave surfer Conor Maguire narrates the series, taking us to meet the famous “County Clare crew” whose lives revolve around the monster slabs of Mullaghmore. He also brings us back to the roots of Irish surfing, featuring guys like Fergal Smith and Barry Britton, pioneers of Irish big wave surfing who put Ireland on the world surfing map through their accomplishments.
So if you find yourself in Donegal over the weekend, it’s a must see!
