A professional guiding company that leads expeditions in Ireland and internationally, Jason Black Mountaineering has had an incredible year. Highlights include the Ireland 7 Summits Series, the 4 Peaks Challenge, which successfully raised over €70,000 for charity, and multiple successful trips to Kilimanjaro, Toubkal and Ama Dablam.

Newly established female-run guiding business Stride Ireland hit the ground running in 2024 and ran multiple guided hikes, mountain skills weekends and navigation courses. Louise Lawrence and Jenny Copeland are both celebrated mountaineers and their newest joint venture made great strides this year!

Wild Women Of The Woods NI

Wild Women of the Woods NI is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women to step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and discover themselves. By organising affordable camps and day events across Ireland, they connect women to nature and each other. Activities range from wild camping on islands to canoeing down rivers, hill walking, open-water swimming, foraging and campfire cooking, all in a safe and encouraging environment. With a mission to combat loneliness and social isolation, the organisation has built a community of 7,000 like-minded women on social media.

This Irish tour operator has been showcasing the ‘real Ireland’ to their customers for over 25 years. Ireland Walk Hike Bike encourages their customers to get out of the car and experience Ireland through the eyes of the locals. Riding bikes along country lanes, hiking the trails and immersing themselves in local culture.

Cormac Lynch from Fia Mountaineering is widely regarded to be one of the best mountain guides in the country. A member of Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue, Cormac runs up to 40 mountain skills courses across the country, turning hundreds of people ‘into mountaineers’ every year.
