Save the date. On Wednesday, 18 April at 7:00 pm, the Columbia ultrarunning extraordinaire Eoin Keith will be regaling us with tales of his Barkley Marathons exploits at the Great Outdoors store on Chatham Street.

The Irish ultrarunner and adventure racer Eoin Keith recently travelled to Tennessee to have a go at the infamous Barkley Marathons. An ultramarathon trail so insane that there are many years that nobody even finishes it. Runners must complete five loops of roughly 42km each in under 60 hours. Read all about the race here.

This year seemed particularly painful with conditions so brutal that not even one participant managed to finish the ‘fun run’ (3 laps of the course) within the time limit. Eoin Keith managed two laps of the grueling course, the second he did with a broken shoulder. And we are just dying to hear about his experience! If you are intrigued then this is your chance to hear Eoin’s first hand account. He is speaking at the Great Outdoors store on Chatham Street on Wednesday, 18 April at 7:00 pm

Tickets for the talk are €5 each, with proceeds going toward the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team.
