Ireland's biggest city-based mass-participation cycle will be held in Cork city for the first time this August, with hundreds expected to take part.

The City Cycle Cork is a brand new event that offers two distances for cyclists through closed roads in Cork city and north county Cork - novelty! It's being held on 13 August 2017 for the first time.

You can choose from either an 80km route or 130km option, and there'll be two exciting timed category hill climbs for the really competitive ones. It’s the first city-based mass-participation cycling event planned in Ireland and promises to be tough, but also great fun.

Here's a map of the two route options:

There's also a festival planned for the finish line to celebrate your achievement, with great food, music and entertainment. The start/finish line will be on the Carrigrohane Straight.

There will be a cycling expo on Saturday 12 August, with loads of cycling gadgets and brands.

The event is also a fundraiser for Enable Ireland to help build a new support centre for children with disabilities in Curaheen in Cork.
